Every now and then I like to revisit web sites and forums that have more or less dropped off my radar. One of these includes papermodlers.com. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that an experienced modeler, Dan Smith, is doing a build log for a model of an early DELAG airship that I designed 10 years ago. Not only is he documenting his build on the forum but he's creating videos of the process. It's all rather gratifying as I wasn't aware of anyone other than myself ever building this model. It's been interesting to see someone else's experience with the build and has got me thinking about how the design and instructions could be improved. (LOOK! SQUIRREL!!)
I can't say that I watch a lot of hobby videos but I have been devouring Dan's. They are informative, entertaining, no longer than they need to be and there's a lot of interesting subjects.
If anyone else is interested in building DELAG Sachsen, the free model is available from the Landships II site as well as on Wargame Vault (where you can throw a couple $$ my way if you're so inclined!).
